US classified ads website Craigslist says it will remove its erotic services category, following claims it promotes prostitution. Law enforcement officials have said prostitutes and clients use the site for illegal sexual encounters.

In recent months the spotlight has been turned on the San Francisco company, following a series of high-profile cases. The one that gained national attention involved Phillip Markoff, 23, who has been charged with killing a young woman who offered her services as a masseuse on Craigslist. Julissa Brisman, 26, was found shot dead in a hotel room in Boston last month. The case was widely covered in the media, with Mr Markoff being dubbed the "Craigslist Killer"

One of the most vocal critics of the erotic services adverts was an Illinois sheriff who sued the site in a federal court. Last week South Carolina's Attorney General Henry McMaster threatened the management of Craigslist with prosecution if it did not remove the local erotic services posting within 10 days.

Last November Craigslist announced a deal with 40 state attorneys general that said it would charge for erotic services ads and require advertisers to user a credit card for payment.

Existing adverts in the erotic services section will remain for the next seven days.The new adult services category has now opened for postings by "legal adult service providers".

In a blog post, Craigslist said each post would be manually reviewed before appearing on the site to ensure compliance with the company's guidelines and terms of use. Craiglist also donated all of the profits from "erotic services" ads to charity, has insisted all along that the site is relatively safe. Recently Craiglist got much traffic then My Space.

Twitter rolled out small settings updates, small changes but big impact

Today Tweeter rolled out very few small changes to settings of Notices section. Now you not able to see settings for @Replies. At first, it looks very small & unnoticeable change but you wrong. Of course changes are small but it's impacts are going too big ! ! !



So what's the change?

In Settings > Notices > you were able to see three options to choose.

Now let's understand all options.

all @ replies: see all @replies posted by people you follow, whether or not you follow the person to whom the reply is directed. You will see all @replies posted by people you follow.

@ replies to the people I'm Following: see @replies posted by people you follow to other people that you also follow. means if you follow both people then only you're able to see the tweet in your homepage.

no @ replies: Simply, If an update begins with @username, it will not show in your homepage.

After this new update you're not able to see these setting.

So What's the impact?

From Now on you're not able to see your friend's reply. You're able to see the tweets he or she made publicly so if I tweet "@WeboLobby new article posted" My followers not able to see that tweet only @WeboLobby able to see that tweet but if I tweet "new article posted" then everyone who follows me able to see it.

So by this small changes you're not able to see a conversation of the person whom you're following or Your followers not able to see the conversation you're doing with others and because of this tweeter charm is going away because this is the main thing which attracts new followers and create a vibes in whole tweeter community. When you able to see the conversation of the person whom you follow, there are chances that you will follow the other person & you can jump to that conversation which create new connections.

Case no 2- Getting New Followers
Now Aniruddh reply the tweet"@WeboLobby my pleasure, Article was nice". Now here, followers of Aniruddh able to see the tweet if they select all @ replies in setting. Now many followers of Aniruddh don't know about @WeboLobby so they going to check the profile and there are chances that some followers of Aniruddh might be interested to follow WeboLobby.

Verdict: By this new changes people are going to stop to jump in conversation & one way is closed for getting new followers. I think twitter should remove the new changes after all tweeter is all about conversation & networking and because of this step twitter will loos it's charm.

Friend List let you group friends to more easily share with and view information from specific sets of people. You already can use them to filter your home page, send Inbox messages and manage privacy settings.

Now it comes to Facebook Chat also which provide ways to organize your connections and to control which friends see you online. Maybe you want to be online with your best friends but offline with your work colleagues. You can now do that by using Friend Lists to filter your connections in Chat.

To do that, From the bottom right corner of your browser, go online with Chat and choose which lists you'd like to include in the Chat pane. You can use your existing lists or create new lists directly from Chat. Earlier you had to completely turn off Facebook chat in order to hide your online status from other contacts.

Alongside each list, you'll notice a green switch; when you turn off the switch, you'll be logging off of Chat for that list. Friends in lists that are switched off will not be able to see that you are online or chat with you, nor will you be able to see whether they are online.

In other IM networks like in yahoo chat you can hide your status but you can see your friends status if he or she sharing its online status but in facebook if you hiding your status then you also not able to see which friends are online which seems to me odd.

To create a new list, simply select the "Friend Lists" menu on the Chat pane, enter a new list name, and drag the names of people you want to include into the list or you can create list form your friends page

Facebook Notifications let you know when people take actions on Facebook related to you, so you can quickly know when your friend tagged your in a photo or read a new posting on your Wall. They already are available from your home page or from the notifications icon within the Facebook Chat bar at the bottom of your browser, but from now you able to know i mmediately when your friends are sharing something new with you.


So when you are online with Facebook Chat, entire notifications will appear automatically and in real time above the Chat bar as pop-up alerts. After a few seconds, the notification will automatically disappear, but you'll still be able to see a list of all of your notifications when you click on the notifications icon. You'll also continue to see a count of all the notifications you've not yet viewed, indicated in red.

You can turn off specific types of notifications if you don't want to receive them. When a notification appears, click the "X" to close it. You then will be asked if you want to permanently turn off future notifications of that same type. For example, if you choose to permanently delete a notification about posted links, you won't receive any future notifications about posted links from your friends.

After introducing the new home page & Friends Page, Facebook focused to create feeds and updated stream real time because Your News Feed, in the center of your home page & that offers you an updated stream of what's happening with your friends & family.

Beginning today, that stream is going live. The stream now updates automatically and gives you the option to view new posts with a prompt at the top of the page immediately below the Publisher. Before today you needed to refresh your browser to see the most recent posts from your connections since logging in.

Facebook is rolling these changes out gradually, so they will be available to everyone soon.

As We just covered, Google rented Goats. Now there is a new development to it. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is okay with letting the goats to do the mow job but they have some major concerns about how they’ll be treated in doing these tasks.

PETA has no problem with letting goats do what goats want to do (e.g., look cute and eat weeds), but we do have concerns about how the goats may be transported, whether they are provided with access to shelter during storms and shade as well as water during hot weather, where they are housed when they aren’t “working,” what kind of veterinary care they receive, and what becomes of old and/or excess goats. PETA has found over and over that whenever animals are used by a business to make money, corners are cut and animals often suffer as a result. And that really gets our goat, if you’ll pardon the pun.

After Twitter success many new services come up the surface like Pawnce, Plurk, Rejaw & some Open slandered services like Identi.ca and Laconi.ca for Twitter alternative. Pawnce Shutdown their operations on December 15, 2008 and become part of Six Apart. Jaiku also acquired by Google all were trying to take the market shear of micro blogging space but off course twitter having the biggest share and large enough audience.It is running stable right now. Twitter is looking for the earning model and others too, But sadly today Rejaw announced that it will be shutting down on May 31, 2009

Rejaw has stopped accepting new sign-ups effective immediately. From now until May 15th, you can continue to send new shouts, whispers, and replies & users can request export of their private user data at http://rejaw.com/account/export On May 16th, an email with export data download instructions will be sent to users who requested it, and you will have until May 31st to download your exported data as an XML file.

Today Google launched 70 themes for forms. Some themes are basic colors schemes & some themes are fancier designs. It will give a good look to your surveys and questionnaires.

To use a form template with a theme, go to your Docs list, select New > From template..., and click Forms under 'Narrow by type,' on the left side of the page. As Facebook already provides Friends List, A list or a group of Friend so you can create list of your school friends, Workmates, Family anything that suites you It will very useful to organize Friend. Of Course You can modify or delete those lists if you choose.

Once you've created your Friend Lists, you can use them all over the site. For example, to send Inbox messages, group or event invitations, or to set privacy on the content you publish. Now with the new home page, you can even filter the stream of stories on your home page by Friends Lists. That way, you can see what is going on with certain groups of people.

Keep in mind, your friends won't be able to see any of the lists you've created.

On Thursday the company added search tool to every user's Twitter home page. It was available for some users seance February but now everyone can see the search box to their twitter page after log in.
