Foursquare, the hugely popular location-based game, is now available in 50 more cities worldwide.

What is Foursquare? Say you and I are friends and you see me check in using your Foursquare iPhone or Android app from a local restaurant, such as McDonald's. If you are in the area, you might stop by and join me. Your app uses the phone's GPS to determine your location and suggest nearby establishments to check in from.

There's also a competitive aspect to it. The more you check in from local places, the more "badges" you earn and if you've checked in from a spot more than any other user, you become the "mayor" of that place.

The location-sharing social game has taken select cities around the world by storm and become very popular in the cites like New York and San Francisco where people play location based games with the flavoring of social networking.

You can "check in" to different restaurants, bars, shops and other locations in different cities and share that information with friends. When you check in, a notification is automatically posted on your profile as well as on other social sites including Twitter and Facebook.

Today, "Businesses" layer added to Google Earth on iPhone, as well as to the "Geographic Web" folder in the desktop Google Earth version. To make them easily discoverable, you'll see them by default when you start the application next time. You'll find businesses like restaurants, bars, banks, gas stations, and grocery stores all just a touch away. By clicking on the icons, you'll get additional information like the telephone number, reviews, hours, and much more. And don't forget, as you zoom in further, more businesses become visible. Google Sync offers two-way, over-the-air contacts and calendar synchronization. This means that you can make changes to your contacts and calendar on your phone or in your desktop Google account. Many Nokia phones ship with it, but it's recommend that you download the latest version from the Nokia website. Google Sync works best with version 2.09 or 2.9 & above.

Google Sync may remove all existing contacts and calendar events from your phone, so make sure to back up any important data before you set up Google Sync.

How cool it would be to use a mobile application that would correctly display the sky based on your location and the direction you're facing in your mobile device only?

Google launch Sky Map for Android. Google Sky Map turns your Android-powered mobile phone into a dynamic window on the night sky. When you point your phone upwards you will see a map of the brightest stars, constellations and planets in that part of the sky. The next time you see a bright star and want to know what it's called, Sky Map can help you identify it.

The GPS and clock allowed to generate maps for the exact time and location, but the compass and accelerometer were what made Sky Map truly interesting. Using these two sensors, the app can determine the exact direction that your phone is facing and display the stars that are visible. If you want to identify that bright star in the west, all you have to do is point the device in that direction and you'll see "Venus" appear on your screen.

Google also implement search feature so when you enter the name of an object of interest, like Saturn, and the phone displays an arrow pointing to the object. As you get closer, the color of the arrow goes from blue to red and the app circles the object when you find it. Voila!

So spot the elusive Mercury in the evening, see Jupiter and Neptune in same binocular field, or view Venus shining in the morning skies. Sky Map was designed to help you navigate the night sky

Download Sky Map from the Android Market, and search for "sky map", or you can find the application listed by popularity in the Applications > Reference section.

Evernote rolled out app for Blackberry users. Now Blackberry owner can create new notes and search through all of your existing Evernote content.

Evernote for BlackBerry lets you create notes containing text, snapshots, voice recordings, and file attachments, business cards, to-do lists, audio messages, photos, links, webpages Once you created, the new content is automatically sent to the Evernote Service, making it available across all the versions of Evernote that you use. You can also access your existing notes, search by keywords, filter by tags and notebooks, or simply browse.

Evernote for BlackBerry is compatible with recent BlackBerry smart phones running OS 4.6 and higher. It means user who having not the latest os would not able to run this application & Currently only new blackberry devices supporting this OS 4.6 like

  • BlackBerry Bold
  • BlackBerry Curve 8900 series
  • BlackBerry Storm

so the newer your BlackBerry, greater the chances that Evernote will run better on it. It is important to note that features are linked to the capabilities of your device so if your BlackBerry does not have a camera, then you will not see the Snapshot note option & the note searching and display experience depends on the capabilities of your BlackBerry’s built-in web browser.

Evernote is a very good for researcher & students who need to take notes. It works great as a research tool where you can grab all the important information and able organized & sync it with other devices or computers. Evernote already provides iPhone App, Windows Mobile version, Desktop version, Firefox extension, a Bookmarklet & Portable App version that's why it's one of my favorite note taking tool. Evernot do provide a premium version with more features & It also provide Twitter support for note taking

Evernote for BlackBerry is available exclusively through BlackBerry App World in the Productivity & Utility > Personal Organization category.
