Last year Twitter break deals with search giant Google and new comer Bing for real time data sharing, and as part of the deal both search engines incorporated Twitter social search into the main stream search. Now Yahoo joins them too.
On Wednesday, Yahoo announced the partnership with the popular micro-blogging service which enables yahoo to see real-time Twitter feeds integrated across the Yahoo network.
As Yahoo is already trying to add more and more service to it's "YOU" initiative which is part of Yahoo's drive to deliver personally relevant information from various online sources into entire yahoo networks. As of now you can add Facebook, My space, Orkut, eBay, Flickr, Flixster and many more. Now Yahoo and Twitter entered in content sharing partnership where yahoo will gain access of the social stream.
- Access to your Realtime Twitter feed on Yahoo Networks.
- Ability to update status from Yahoo.
- Twitter Integration into Yahoo Search and Yahoo Properties.
People using yahoo will be able to access their personal Twitter feeds across Yahoo products like Yahoo home page, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports, and others yahoo properties. secondly user able to know what's happening with their friends while they surf Yahoo.
Yahoo also gonna bring the content to Yahoo Search and Yahoo media properties like news, finance, entertainment and sports which will include real-time public Twitter updates.
From our perspective, this partnership represents a big opportunity. This deal is a win-win opportunity for both companies, As Yahoo having 600 million registered users who use the yahoo web properties and also having largest user base in web email, so here is where twitter will gain a larger exposure, while yahoo will gain access to 50 million daily tweets to fulfill the social and realtime data requirement.
Recently, Google introduce it's social product "Buzz" where user can integrate twitter updates into Gmail via Buzz. Here Yahoo doing the same thing but bringing the twitter into entire Yahoo ecosystem. Tweets may be short, but this 140 characters approach can be a big leap for Yahoo to shut off the Google Buzz.
As the Twitter information network grows and expands, it becomes more valuable for every user who participates, for sure.
Now need to see what will happen to
Yahoo Meme, which was launched by Yahoo last year as a twitter competitor that never really took off.

Yahoo! is a very old and dominant player in personal email market and still having a large share. Gmail has already grabbed some of the market share.
As Gmail already has a dedicated contact management for users to manage contacts, until now that was not available in Yahoo!. But now they have also rolled out an all new dedicated
contacts features, which includes many good features to work and manage your contacts.

The first time Yahoo! integrated the contacts to its entire ecosystem and make easy for user to access it from any yahoo network site. The new user interface is much batter then the older one.
Yahoo also replaced the new Yahoo! Mail and Classic Yahoo! Mail address book with the new Yahoo! Contacts and also intimidated it with Yahoo profiles.
It's great having a tool where you can print, import, export your contacts. It's also able to find duplicate contacts by using the Clean-Up Duplicates Tool. With this new feature, you can reduce all of the duplicate contacts with a push of a button.
User can import the contacts from other Yahoo! accounts or desktop email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail and other email accounts like Gmail and Hotmail.
Yahoo! seems to be giving solid competition to other players by rolling out these new features and tools. They introduced some new applications in Yahoo! Mail and recently they
acquired Xoopit, which is an online plugin-based email and contact management tool which integrates with your existing email services.
After
Yahoo! acquired
Flickr, it merged the Flicker accounts with the Yahoo! accounts but
Delicious kept far away from this process. Now finally Delicious accounts are merging with Yahoo! accounts.

The Merging process is so simple any easy. Just login to your Delicious account with your username and password. After that go to "Settings" > go to "Accounts" > click on "Merge with Yahoo! account" > Click on "Start"> use your YahooID and password (assuming that you're not already logged in) and associate your Delicious account with your Yahoo! account.
Points that need to be remembered:
- The Yahoo! account you sign into will forever be associated with your Delicious bookmarks. If you have more than one Yahoo! account, make sure you sign in using the one you want associated with your Delicious bookmarks.
- You'll not be able to sign in with your old Delicious username and password after this account merge.
- Your public bookmarks be shared via Yahoo! Updates.
- Your public bookmarks will now be shared with people beyond the domain (Delicious). You can disable this option if you choose.
You will retain your vanity URL that you were using to access your bookmarks via: http://delicious.com/your_xyz_url_
Here is some great news for iPhone users who are running the latest iPhone OS 3.0 or higher. Yahoo just bring the ability to sync your
Yahoo! Calendar with your iPhone Calendar. Apple and Yahoo! have collaborated to bring this feature over to your iPhone Calendar. Yahoo using the open standard- CalDAV, that has been developed by the CalConnect group, which Yahoo! and Apple both are members.
Setting up your calendar to sync with your iPhone is too easy. There is nothing to download or plugging into your computer. Syncing calendar to your iPhone can be done over the air in just a few simple steps on your iPhone.
To get started.
- Go to your iPhone settings application.
- Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
- Tap "Other" and then tap "Add CalDAV Account".
- For the "Server" you can simply type "yahoo".
- Now type in the Yahoo! username and password you use to signin to your calendar
- Once you click save, the iPhone will verify your username and password.
- Next time you open up your iPhone Calendar you will see a page allowing you to select which Yahoo! Calendar layer you want to view/edit.
One thing to note that Once you start syncing your Calendar with your iPhone you will be upgraded to
all new Yahoo! Calendar 2.0 Beta automatically. You will not be able to go back to the old calendar product once this process is completed.
So now all of your events will be synced over the air to your iPhone and to Yahoo Web Calendar too without having to plug into your computer. You can also share your calendar with your friends and family via Yahoo Calendar. When you do that, you’ll get to see their events on your phone as well. Now, you really can have a mobile calendar ! What could be better you ask

Okay so editing job is done now lets share it with friends! for easy sharing job yahoo also add up another application,

Another application is Xoopit's
My Photos application. This is now not only the place to see all the photos that you have in your email, it's the easiest place for you to share private photos with your friends and family. Upload and send out piles of pictures of your new baby, photos from your dinner parties, or anything else, without worrying about attachment limits or distant acquaintances seeing them.

and another application is
ZumoDrive. It is a cloud storage service that gives you access to your files anywhere, with powerful sharing capabilities. To makes it simple to share any documents, photos, videos or to send attachments directly within Yahoo! Mail. Even those large files that used to be a pain to attach now becomes a breeze to share. search box which allow users to send tweet. Yahoo also rolled out a desktop application called
Sideline, powered by Adobe Air which is built with the Yahoo! User Interface Library (YUI). It allows users to create and group custom queries by topics of interest.

It's not a full featured client that allow you to send tweet, short urls, post images. It just perform twitter search. it's a dedicated application for twitter search where you can see twitter trending topics and open dedicated tab for each search. user can mix up different different search in to one single search, in simple words this app allow to groping search. What I like about sideline is to having a ability to create a unique search terms via the advance mode where user can define the search keywords, see the screenshot below.

Sideline is an open source application released under the BSD license. This is the first beta release is out and the code is hosted on github. to run this application you should have adobe air installed to run this app.
Yahoo 360 gonna
shut it's door soon so 360 user have not much time to export data so if you have any content on Yahoo 360, then there are two easy options to move your content.
Y360toWordpress is a CodePlex project that makes moving to a WordPress blog quick and easy. Just download the zip file, extract it, and follow the instructions in the readme file. You'll need to have the .Net 2.0 framework higher to installed it.
other option is
My Opera, it offers importing from Y!360. Just
sign up for an account or use your existing, if you have one and then go to the
import page. Just provide your Yahoo username and password, and Opera will import all your important data automatically.
and if you don't wanna these options then you can stick with Yahoo
single-click transfer. It'll move your content to your new, Yahoo profile.

Facebook recently announced that it support Open ID so now Facebook user can use third party username for login this is a big step from Facebook. As of now Google, AOl, My Space all support as a Open Id Provider. means Google is happy if you're using Google Account to login other OpenID enable websites but it's not happy to let you in with others Open ID.
Facebook is the first big web company which allowing user to let you in via other OpenID instead of your Facebook credentials. To do that First off all you need to linked your Open ID accounts with Facebook. Once you do that then you can login in Facebook via the OpenID that you liked with Facebook.
To get started just login to your Facebook account, After that go to Settings > Account Settings > a page will open says "My Account", Now go to " Linked Accounts" where you can select different
OpenID providers like Yahoo, Google, AOl, Vidoop, MyOpenId, Verisign PIP, or any OpenID you can linked with your Facebook Profile. Just grant access to your Facebook account.

That's it, After this step user can auto login with OpenID, For Example you already loged in to your Google Account & you open up a link which opens in Facebook. Usually you need to log in to Facebook Account to do that but if you already Linked your Google Account with Facebook then it will directly open up and it will skip the Facebook login. It's fast and secures.
Remember Auto Login feature is not allow via Yahoo & Myspace. You can link multiple Open ID but you can link only One Google Account, Yahoo Account, My Space Account so link the account which you frequently use.
Finally Yahoo closing its blogging & social platform
Yahoo 360. It’s been almost two years since Yahoo first announced 360 was closing. Yahoo 360 user can
download their personal content before July 12, 2009. on July 13, 2009 Yahoo! 360° will be closing down

Yahoo official said it "Today, we’re able to firmly say that on July 13, 2009 Yahoo! 360° will be closing down and you’ll be asked to move into your new profile on Yahoo!, by July 12, 2009."
"
So why they tool so long to close it? Well According to yahoo, "Before we could retire 360, we had to find a sustainable and adequate solution for your personal information. We know how important your blog entries and profile information is to each of you, and we wanted to be able to maintain the integrity of this content. Rather than rushing the process and risking data loss"
Yahoo is focusing in other property of business such as Search, Mail, Hosting for small business etc. Yahoo tried to step in to social space via mash but it was a disaster and they closed it. Now Yahoo also trying to enter in Micro Blogging space via new startup
Yahoo MemeYahoo closed too many services for focusing other entity of business like Yahoo briefcase,
Yahoo geocites,
Jumpcut & now Yahoo 360

Jumpcut a service from Yahoo which let you upload videos clips and photos & user can edit and remix the content via Jumpcut. The concept was very nice to let user create remix of their video clips and photos.
Yahoo already announced that it will shutdown Jumpcut service which is still in beta. Now there is last chance for user to export their content from Jumpcut. after June 15, 2009 user wont able to export their data from jumpcut & Jumpcut team also rolled email notification with Sub: "
Jumpcut.com is shutting down - download your files!"For the exporting the content from Jumpcut, Website provides a zip file for Download your original assets which includes photos, video, and audio, not movies
User can download individual assets , Here assets means media files like audio, video & photos that user use to remix the content. User able to download the original files in zip format.
To download your remix work user need to follow different step. to do that user need to Download Jumpcut Movie Renderer for Windows (JumpOut!) from the website.
The movie renderer allows you to capture your Jumpcut movies in a .wmv format for saving on your local computer or uploading to other video services. further instruction can be found
here.
Once you download the movies you may choose to upload them to another site such as Flickr, which
allows video uploads for short videos. It can be a wise action from yahoo to focus on Flickr which is provide same type of tools and features.

Yahoo! has released a desktop email and personal information management client called
Zimbra Desktop. It's based on the Zimbra email, calendar, and contact service that Yahoo!
purchased a few years ago for $350 million. And that explains why the desktop client looks so much like the latest version of Yahoo!'s web based email service.
The interesting thing is that Zimbra Desktop doesn't just provide access to your Yahoo! email account. You can also link it to your Gmail, AOL, Windows Live, or other web mail accounts. It supports POP and IMAP as well. If you're using a tag-based email service like Gmail, Zimbra Desktop will import your labels and treat them like folders. But you can also use the email client to tag, sort, or search for messages on your desktop.
Zimbra is an open source application and it's available for Mac, Windows and Linux. Not only does it have an integrated calendar and contact solution, but it can also import your calendars and contact lists from Yahoo! and Gmail. Windows Live address books can also be imported, but not the calendar.
Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop combines the best aspects of existing email clients. May be it can replace Outlook. All emails like Zimbra Mail. Yahoo! Mail. Gmail. AOL. They all work automatically in Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop; even Outlook or any other work or personal email account using POP or IMAP is easy to set up. The best part—you can read them offline without an internet connection when you are in "airplane" mode
Personally, I haven't felt much need to use a desktop email client for the past few years. Web mail is accessible from any computer with a web browser, as well as mobile devices. And you don't need to configure any software to get it working. But if you're a fan of desktop email clients, you might want to give Zimbra Desktop a look. It's free, after all or You can try Thunderbird its also free with addon support.

Internet Search engine
Ask is reverting to its original name, Ask Jeeves, as it reintroduces the iconic fictional butler into its corporate branding. English butler who serves up answers to search queries, saying its British users missed him after the company dropped him three years ago.
Ask is returning to its original name, "Ask Jeeves", in Britain, and is launching a multi-million-pound advertising campaign on Monday featuring an updated, three-dimensional and less servile Jeeves than his previous incarnation.
The search engine has been through a series of rebrands so Jeeves will appear on TV advertising this week and will also have a Facebook profile and Twitter account, the company said. He is only returning to the
UK site of Ask.com.
The original idea behind Ask Jeeves was to allow users to get answers to questions posed in everyday, natural language. It supports a variety of user queries in plain English (natural language), as well as traditional keyword searching. On September 23, 2005 the company announced plans to phase out Jeeves and on February 27, 2006 the character disappeared from Ask.com. Now the character is returning in Ask.com
Ask is struggling, as all search engines other than Google which having 90% of the market share, so the other search engines -
Yahoo,
MSN,
AOL,
Ask to name but a few - are all trying to grab a share of the remaining 10%.
Ask, a unit of Barry Diller's Internet media company
IAC/InterActive Corp, says it has stabilised its British base at 15 million users per month by improving the relevance and speed of the results it delivers and its user-friendliness. In the United States, Ask is the fourth-most popular search engine after Google, Yahoo and Microsoft with 3.8 percent of the market, according to industry tracker ComScore.

You can also able to receive an updates at any time by just sending a blank email to NutshellMail and personally I'm a fan of one feature called "Boomerang". For me it works like magic. By using boomerang you can have your another email in primary your Inbox.
For example: If you are using your corporate email account& at that time there is important email in your Gmail so instead of log in to GMail u just need to send a email called "Boomerang" and in seconds you can see a copy of that same email that you have in Gmail, Kind of Instant Forward but here you can have control that which email you wanna see right away.

Free or Pro, all of Flicker users can now share video on Flickr. previously this privilege was only for Pro members but video on Flickr is now available for all. For free account members, It having some limitations like members can upload 2 videos a month with a maximum file size of 150 MB or 90 seconds per file & It can only be in standard definition however in other hands pro member can upload HD videos..
So if you've got a Flickr account and want to share videos in addition to photos, Flickr's now an option for yon. Or you could use YouTube, Vimeo,
Fliggo or any of dozens of other online video sites which give you much more upload and time limits.
