Last year Twitter break deals with search giant Google and new comer Bing for real time data sharing, and as part of the deal both search engines incorporated Twitter social search into the main stream search. Now Yahoo joins them too.

On Wednesday, Yahoo announced the partnership with the popular micro-blogging service which enables yahoo to see real-time Twitter feeds integrated across the Yahoo network.

As Yahoo is already trying to add more and more service to it's "YOU" initiative which is part of Yahoo's drive to deliver personally relevant information from various online sources into entire yahoo networks. As of now you can add Facebook, My space, Orkut, eBay, Flickr, Flixster and many more. Now Yahoo and Twitter entered in content sharing partnership where yahoo will gain access of the social stream.
  • Access to your Realtime Twitter feed on Yahoo Networks.
  • Ability to update status from Yahoo.
  • Twitter Integration into Yahoo Search and Yahoo Properties.
People using yahoo will be able to access their personal Twitter feeds across Yahoo products like Yahoo home page, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports, and others yahoo properties. secondly user able to know what's happening with their friends while they surf Yahoo.

Yahoo also gonna bring the content to Yahoo Search and Yahoo media properties like news, finance, entertainment and sports which will include real-time public Twitter updates.

From our perspective, this partnership represents a big opportunity. This deal is a win-win opportunity for both companies, As Yahoo having 600 million registered users who use the yahoo web properties and also having largest user base in web email, so here is where twitter will gain a larger exposure, while yahoo will gain access to 50 million daily tweets to fulfill the social and realtime data requirement.

Recently, Google introduce it's social product "Buzz" where user can integrate twitter updates into Gmail via Buzz. Here Yahoo doing the same thing but bringing the twitter into entire Yahoo ecosystem. Tweets may be short, but this 140 characters approach can be a big leap for Yahoo to shut off the Google Buzz.

As the Twitter information network grows and expands, it becomes more valuable for every user who participates, for sure.

Now need to see what will happen to Yahoo Meme, which was launched by Yahoo last year as a twitter competitor that never really took off.

Twitter is expanding its product to other languages. Twitter rolled out a Spanish language version. Just after that, Japanese. Today, it's announcing French support as well. Good News for French Twitter users.

Italian and German languages updates will come soon, too.

To see Twitter in French, login to your Twitter account > go to "Settings" > and select “French” from the Language menu.

Twitter wrote the blog post in French, so we'll provide a Google translation in English for non-French speakers.

When Twitter was started, at the time no one knew that a microblogging tool would become a big source for real time news and other content.

"What are you doing?" This was the most common question everyone was asking to each other. To solve this, Twitter came up with a solution in form of micro-updates where a user needed to update the status so the world would know what that person was doing. Basically the tool started out as a person-to-person communications platform but as a popular and much wider audience started to adopt it, it's been seen as a rich source for news and a live event coverage service.

The platform which started its journey to serve p2p communication has now officially changed its meaning. According to Twitter, "What you're doing?" isn't the right question anymore. Now it's "What’s Happening?" This question is showing the future path for Twitter.

People still may be updating their status that pertain to what they were eating, watching on TV, or simply saying good night, even some people were giving their bathroom flush updates. For some time it was okay but now people find it boring. Most people are not interested what you're eating or flushing only because now people on Twitter are trying to find good source of information which is created by millions of people like you and me. People are witnessing accidents, organizing events, sharing links, breaking news, reporting stuff their dad says, and so much more. That's why big search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo come to Twitter to grab the real-time information.

More and more brands started to adopt Twitter for their brand building strategy. Many companies also added customer support service by using tidy 140 characters.

The fundamental concept of Twitter is changing from "What are you doing?" to "what's happening?" but that will also change soon enough and will be replaced by "Where is it happening?" Twitter is also working on location-based information, so after implementing that core, they'll become a big player for delivering and finding information based on geography.

Basically, their motivation has changed. Go and check out the motivation behind this move in Twitter’s own words.

Twitter is slowly rolling out a retweet capability in all accounts. Early users who got this capability into their accounts will see many new changes in user interface.

First of all, let's see what the new changes are. When someone does a retweet of what you say, you'll see his or her profile under that particular tweet, indicating how many people did the same thing.

Another change is while that you have always seen how many direct message you've got and how many favorites you marked, now you'll also see how many times you've been retweeted. So now you'll get all your retweet data under your roof!

Another change is now you'll see the retweet button under each and every message, so you can do instant retweet for interesting and good tweets of your choice. Even you can reverse your actions by just clicking the undo button.

You'll also see whose tweet you can retweet by just visiting his or her profile where you able to see green mark.

By this new change, people will probably do more retweets then before, because until now people have to click twice instead of once, and now there are some simple metrics to follow the process.

Power.com is a very good site where you can manage all your social profiles from a single place where you can manage Orkut, Hi5, Myspace & recently they have added Linkedin too. Facebook was there but due to some legal issues they dropped it for now. Now The website also added Twitter.com into their list. this is a vast step by Power.com

(Power.com with Twitter support)

Power.com is much popular in countries like Brazil. it's a one stop shop for all social networking site. it also allow you to browse YouTube and metacafe with in the power.com website interface. It also provide instant messenger facility with the help of your MSN ID.

It really enhance your twitter profile. When you post the tweet you can translate the tweet in different languages like Spanish, Portuguese etc.

Su.pr is a URL shortening service from StumbleUpon similar to Bit.ly or TinyURL, and dozens of other services that let you create short url in few characters that you can share in an email, Twitter, Facebook status update, or anywhere else.

But there are somethings that Su.pr make it different from other service. First, like Bit.ly, Su.pr also offers analytics that will give you information like how many times users have clicked on your links. And secondly, Su.pr is run by web site discovery service StumbleUpon so every time you shorten a link, you also add a web-based StumbleUpon toolbar to the link that lets users vote on the story and submit it to the StumbleUpon website. so by this you're not only getting short url with good analytics but also exposes your content to StumbleUpon's nearly 8 million users!

Beyond that it also provides personal API key like Bit.ly so you can use it in third party service. and soon you'll able to post your own urls with su.pr!!

Until, the service was only available to beta testers. But now Su.pr dropped the beta label, and Anyone can use Su.pr to shorten a link. it also integrate your Sumbalupon account. if you want to post updates directly to Twitter and Facebook using Su.pr, you'll need to enter your login info to do that.

Seesmic Desktop rolled out a popular Twitter client based on Adobe Air come up with a Web Based app for Twitter. Recently TweetDeck rolled a iPhone app and new desktop app. However Seesmic is also focusing on the iPhone App and soon it will gonna hit the market. when? we don't know yet.

With the web version they also roll up Seesmic Desktop version 0.4 with improved UI. I must say Seesmic Desktop UI improved too much time by time in each new version. but the most excitement thing is not the new Seesmic Desktop but it's the new web version.

Let's take a in depth review of Seesmic Web version.

Do we need Web version?

My answer is yes because Twitter's own web version is not fully featured and compact. Compared to Twitter Seesmic provides more features such as search monitoring within the app, timeline, @reply(Mention), DM, and the interface is similar like Seesmic desktop.

its too easy to use, you do not have to installing anything in the browser. No Adobe Air, No plugin, no addons, Just type www.seesmic.com/web into any browser address bar and get started.

It using the oAuth Authentication for the web version so you don't have to provide your password and username to seismic but just need to authorized them to stream your twitter account updates.

After doing the oAuth step you can add up your favorite search keywords in the web app so you can see what people are saying about your brand on twitter and that's not it it's to easy to follow and unfollow the people on Seesmic Web. Just hover the mouse courser to any profile and seesmic will display some basic information like profile link, follwing count, follower count and facility to follow or unfollow the people with in the web app!!

It also show that the number of messages you sent and received to a particular person and by clicking on particular line it also show a bubble type conversation which is easy to understand. it also show color coding for undear masseges in timeline too.

It showing the twitter updates near to real time and you can twist the UI in compact mode that look similar to co-tweet UI and column mode that smiler to Seesmic Desktop. that's not it, Seesmic web app also giving you the flexibility to chose which to show compact and which into row!!

Well, still not all Seesmic Desktop features are available in web app like user groups, short url service integration, image sharing integration like TwitPic, Moby picture etc. and right now main feature is needed that would be sync of web app and Desktop app settings but Seesmic will incorporate the all features in further update, I think.

Seesmic is also working on iPhone app as I already mentioned. it's a great thing from seesmic to have a Desktop, Web and an mobile app in a product portfolio. we need to see what TweetDeck is reacting by this new updates from Seesmic !

Whether you’re on the desktop or iPhone we’ve made it simple to see all your columns, for all your accounts and tweet from any account or even cross-post tweets to numerous Twitter accounts at the same time. This is the most demanded feature from me from longtime, Finlay it arrives :)

Unlimited columns – User can now have as many columns as users like on TweetDeck. No more 10 columns limit.

Local trends: This is a very unique feature which i never found in any desktop or iPhone App for twitter. rather than only being able to see what’s trending on Twitter as a whole, with local trends, you can now see what’s hot among your own friends and colleagues. You’ll be able to run local trends on any of your columns in TweetDeck. Fantastic feature !

  • Conversation window so view an entire dialogue all at once.
  • Watch Qik or 12seconds video clips from the comfort of TweetDeck.
  • New ‘Block & Report Spam’ button, Just one click will delete the message from view, block the user and report them to Twitter.
  • Find new and interesting people to follow via TweetDeck Recommends column
  • The Gmail style ‘Reply All’ so Tweet everyone mentioned in a tweet in just a couple of clicks !
  • Now share and preview YFrog photos inside TweetDeck.
  • Smart filter which enables you to find a person and add them to a group quickly and easily.
TweetDeck also roll out a new desktop version that do sync with iPhone App.

You can now have your YouTube account automatically update your Facebook friends, Twitter followers, and Google Reader shared items when you upload a video. YouTube add OAuth support for twitter accounts, Connect your Fecebook Account via Facebook Connect and also add to your Google Reader shared items.

Find all these link to your YouTube Upload page where you can connect your existing Twitter, Facebook and Google Reader account. YouTube called this feature AutoShare which share your upload instantly to these social services.

But remember to do that your Google Account needs to be linked to your YouTube account in order to use AutoShare. Sorry but i could not able to find a link that how can we merge the both accounts. If any one know that please let me know.
As we just posted that Google also come up with a search box which allow users to send tweet. Yahoo also rolled out a desktop application called Sideline, powered by Adobe Air which is built with the Yahoo! User Interface Library (YUI). It allows users to create and group custom queries by topics of interest.

It's not a full featured client that allow you to send tweet, short urls, post images. It just perform twitter search. it's a dedicated application for twitter search where you can see twitter trending topics and open dedicated tab for each search. user can mix up different different search in to one single search, in simple words this app allow to groping search. What I like about sideline is to having a ability to create a unique search terms via the advance mode where user can define the search keywords, see the screenshot below.

Sideline is an open source application released under the BSD license. This is the first beta release is out and the code is hosted on github. to run this application you should have adobe air installed to run this app.

About 2 years ago, Google introduce Google Desktop for Mac to extend Google search capabilities to your Mac. after that Google rolled out Search Box in developer preview. Now Google officially releasing this technology to all users as the Google Quick Search Box or QSB for short. Quick Search Box already available in the Windows version of Google Desktop as well.

A hot Buzz of development is going in Twitter space, particular desktop app for Twitter like TweetDeck, Seesmic Desktop, which both now pull updates from Facebook & Twitter. Now Google is also getting involved in this buzz up.

Google Quick Search Box (QSB) is a Mac desktop application makes your web & desktop searches at a finger tip, With Google Quick Search Box you can search for information from just about anywhere. As you type, suggestions will appear that match your query, ranging from applications and local files on your computer, to web search and navigational suggestions, to items from your browser history and contacts and the types of results you can get will only grow over time! means, if you chose Google Calendar, the next time you search for "cal", Google QSB will reorder the results so that you don't have to arrow down to your desired choice. Instead, you can just type "cal" and press enter.

Google Quick Search Box is extensible. This means that anyone can create a plug-in that enables the QSB to search over additional data or perform more actions on results. in this version you can add twitter plug in

So, aside typing search queries into the Quick Search Box (QSB) , you can also use it as a Twitter status updater. but still you are not able to perform Twitter search via QSB & this feature is missing in Windows version, probable soon, Google will add it in windows version too.

To get started,Go to Preferences > Add Accounts > Add > Select Twitter as the account type > Enter your Twitter account name and password > Click Setup

Your Twitter account name and password will be stored in the standard Apple keychain.

Now to send a tweet via QSB,
  • Open the Quick Search Box by hiting the spacebar
  • Start by entering a space. (This allows you to create a 'text item' in the search box.)
  • Just Enter the text you want to tweet. Don't forget Twitter's 140 character limit!
  • Now The default result should be a 'text' item. Press Tab on your keyboard to see your possible actions.
  • Select Send Twitter Status.
  • Press Return on your keyboard.

TweetMemeof Wordpress plugin is now fully support Wordpress MU version 2.7 and above
  • The plugin will now correctly validate for XHTML websites
  • Improved security for Wordpress 2.7 installations
  • The ability to switch off the ping to TweetMeme when you update a post. This is only required if you regularly change the title of your post.
  • Improved accessibility of the plugin settings pages
This new version is also available as the development version & devloper can test and give feedback to Tweetmeme. You can download the development version from the download page.
China has the highest number of Internet users in the world along with a booming economy and that explains why American web companies like Yahoo, Google and Microsoft co-operate wholeheartedly with the Chinese government in implementing search engine key words blockage.

For instance, Google shows a different set of search results in China to keep the communists happy, Microsoft is known to block blog entries that contain banned keywords while Yahoo has been accused of helping Beijing arrest an innocent journalist by providing details of his personal email account.

YouTube has been blocked for some time and Wikipedia was blocked for a while, Today Chinese authorities have brought the the Great Wall of China on a number of services including Twitter, Flickr, Bing, Live.com, Hotmail, Blogger and many more websites. The API to Twitter, used by clients like TweetDeck, Twhirl and Seesmic Desktop, has also been affected.

business people, entrepreneurs and social commentators having contacts and work out side of China, will majorly get effect by this step.

According to early reports on Twitter & blogs. It seems that the Chinese authorities want to quiet down the entire major social networking and social media part of the web ahead of the 20th anniversary of Tiananmen massacre on June 4th.

Recently, An employee of Baidu, the Google of China, has leaked a document folder that suggests in detail how authorities in China censor the Internet. Some of the words are as under:
  • Chinese Communist Party, Ruling government
  • Puppet government, One-party system
  • Dictatorship, tyranny
  • Human rights in China & Freedom of expression
  • Gao Zhisheng (Chinese lawyer and activist)
  • Falun Gong (Banned cult in China founded by Li Hongzhi)
  • Keywords related to Military, Gambling, Brainwashing & Sex
  • Kidney harvesting from live people, Organ Sale
  • Tiananmen Square Massacre
  • Tibet, Taiwan Independence
  • Cheating in Examinations, Fake Diploma courses
  • How to make bombs, counterfeit money and so on.
Automattic, the company behind the popular WordPress blogging software, faced a similar moral dilemma in 2006 when China suddenly blocked access to all WordPress.com blogs inside the mainland.

Matt told AFP that ban on WordPress in China could have been lifted had he agreed to block certain words or topics and give up information to the Chinese communist government about WordPress users.

Unlike other giants, WordPress took a more ethical stand refusing to comply with the Chinese diktats and WP blogs therefore still remain blocked in China. The situation is likely to stay the same forever unless China relaxes their censorship laws which again sounds like a remote possibility.

What to do Now?

The advantage with blogs & Twitter is that they all provide RSS feeds so you can easily read any blog & Twitter Updates using a web based feed readers or Desktop reader even if the main site is blocked. It can work with any blog or website which provides RSS feeds like Blogger, Wordpress, Twitter, Digg, Bing, YouTube

In case of blogs or Website, you can use this website ".nyud.net" to the blog URL and it should open just fine. For instance, if the main blog is located at WeboLobby.com, you can access a mirror image of this site from WeboLobby.com.nyud.net. If that doesn’t solve the problem, here are some more ways to access blocked sites Wordpress.com & Blogger blogs both support post by email so Chinese bloggers can publish new content on WordPress & Blogger blogs using any of the email programs.

Also you can find more ways to access the websites with diffrent ways here & here. It's twitter links , Of Course twitter is blocked so use search.twitter.com.nyud.net for the same keywords.

Update: Some user updated that twitter works on http://threadedtweets.com may be it will work for you , let me know about it

Update: Twitter works with Topify which allow to send reply and DM via emails so user can use it via email, Well Hotmail is blocked so try other email programs use Topify

(TweetDeck New Spacial Edition- Blink 182)

TweetDeck is a popular twitter app for Desktop. Recently TweetDeck add Facebook notifications and many improvements come up with the version 0.25

TweetDeck team come up with a spacial edition of Desktop App, Blink 182 TweetDeck. Blink 182 is a music band and for their fan base it can be a reason to use Blink 182 TweetDeck. Blink 182 is having official twitter account with more then 35000 followers and with only 3 twitter updates where last two tweet was for announcements for the TweetDeck client. In this edition you'll get blink 182 theme, notification sound that is based on a popular track of Blink 182 and a Blink 182 button which brings up a Blink182 group in TweetDeck.

Create new branded apps which give new shine to these companies but by this advertisers get the good value for advert and developers get new fan base as a new user.
