Blogger updated it's Blog Post Editor with set of new features and new user interface as part of Blogger's 1oth anniversary. It looks nice and good in part of interface compared to the old Blog Post Editor and many new set of features have been added.

To get started just log in to your Blogger account and go to Settings of your blog from Dashboard > Now go to Basic > Under Global Settings you'll find Select post editor > from there select Updated editor and save. That's it. Now you're on New blogger Post Editor. You can switch back to old version any time by following the same step and select old editor.

So what's new in this Blog Post Editor?
  • First of all it having a new user interface that looks much batter then the old one.
  • You can resize the Blog Post area where the Body content appears. this is a very good feature. In old version user was not able to resize the window but here you can! so now no struggle for space, resize the window vertically as you like.
  • Now you can add direct links to the blog via Encloser link. By this user can easily embedding content like music/audio from third-party sites.

New Buttons like"Undo" "Redo", "Text background Color" and also added "strikethrough" button.

It also change the way it was handling images when user upload it. Previously user can add images via pop up window but now user can upload the image without leaving the page and in old editor when user upload the image that time only user need to decide the size of the image and place of the image whether it should appear left side, right side or canter but new editor allow user to change the image place and size after the uploading without using the HTML editor.

(Image Uploader Window)

( Resize the Image, Place the Image, Remove the Image )

Now user also able to handle the links much batter way without touching the HTML editor. user can change the url or body content of the link or even can remove the link on the fly. New Editor also show the preview page of the blogpost same way Image uploader window works, without leaving the post page.
Now it also support for Geotagign which attach the location based information to your blog post. You can use shortcuts in Editor like press Ctrl with: B for Bold, I for Italic, P for Publish, S for Save, D for Draft etc.

So over all Blogger's New Post Editor having good improvements like
  • Improved Image Handling
  • Improved Raw HTML
  • Geotagging
  • Resize the Post Editor Vertically
  • Easy Link Editing in Compose Mode
  • Better Previews
  • Draggable Placeholders
  • A New Advanced ToolBar
There are some draw backs for this new editor like not handling the Images batter way, mean to say you can't dragging pictures around a post like previously user could do in the old version but newer version refuses to do it. New version also remove the support for native spell checker, Mostly all modern browser do have inbuilt spell checker but it would be good if blogger re add that option again. another thing is user can't upload the images in batches that was available in previous version. Ofcourse new Blogger got many good things but it also need improvements like
  • Allow to add caption in images via the image uploader.
  • Able to instruct the link, it should open in new window or not.
  • Spell checker support
What you think of these new change? Do you have any batter suggestions. Do share your point of view in comments.

If you have a FriendFeed account and if some one subscribe to your FriendFeed then you'll get a email alert about this , if you set the notification enable in settings. It same like twitter, where you'll get alerts for new followers and for DM. Recently Twitter started to support HTML emails notifications & FriendFeed is doing the same thing. Another third party service Topify also provides reach email notification alerts for Twitter where you can get much information in email compared to Twitter's own email notifications.

Instead of the boring plain text email , FriendFeed user will get reach text emails which cantains profile image of a new FriendFeed subscriber, if any and also contains few shared stories, if any. see the screen shot below.

( FriendFeed Email notification with HTML support)

This is a very basic feature but it helps to save precious time because you don't ave to visit the profile for additional information. You can get basic profile image, recently shared stuff directly to your email whether you use any web based email or any other email clients such as Outlook or Thunderbird.

I think that's not enough, FriendFeed should add other profile information such as how many subscription , how many subscribers & how many comments he or she did & from which websites he or she sharing the content etc.. these changes make the email notification more valuable and useful.

Meanwhile you can subscribe to our FriendFeed and follow us on Twitter for new updates.

Like in Twitter user able to get a url that can be land to his or her twitter profile page but like wise in Facebook it is not possible to get a url that attached to our profile. The URL was just a randomly assigned number like "id=592952074." but that soon will change. Facebook announced the forthcoming availability of usernames for user profiles and Facebook Pages. Now you can have a personalized URL for your Page (facebook.com/yourname). Beginning at 12:01am EDT Saturday, June 13, 2009. user you'll be able to choose a username on a first come, first serve basis for your profile and the Facebook Pages that you administer by visiting www.facebook.com/username/

Facebook also put a countdown clock to that page so all can get the detail for remaining timings so don't worry about the time zone just see the remaining time & calculate it according to your time.

But why you need a personal url?

Well, Usernames allow public entities to easily promote your presence on Facebook with a short URL .This username can be used in your marketing communications, company website and business cards. When your friends, family members or co-workers visit your profile or Pages on Facebook, they will be able to enter your username as part of the URL in their browser. This way people will have an easy-to-remember way to find you.

But Facebook also add some conditions to it like Once you have claimed a username by clicking the “Set Username” button, it is not possible to edit it, or to transfer your username to a different account on Facebook. Additionally, when an account is removed from the site, its username will not be made available to other users for security reasons. Only one username is allowed per Page. so think carefully about the username you choose for your profile.

Facebook usernames will be available in basic text forms, and you can only choose a single username for your profile and for each of the Pages that you administer. Your username must be at least five characters in length and only include alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9), or a period or full stop ("."). see the screenshot below and get the idea.

Another thing is If you signed up for a Facebook Page or user profile after May 31, you may not be able to sign up for a username immediately.

If you keep the rights for a trademark or other protected name & If you want to ensure as a rights holders interested in preventing their trademarks from being registered as usernames just contact Facebook here.

Remember, After 12:01 a.m. (EDT) on Sunday, June 28, 2009 all can sign up for username so just add up this date in your Google calender or reminder service so you don't miss the event. Now I'm really wondering that there are 300 million Facebook user and mostly many do have common names so it will be a competition for getting the names. what will happen if all people named Mark come to gather in same time for getting a name? at that time, to whom system will assign a user name?

well, just keep the finger cross for your user name. if your name is most common then just use a unique combination, if desire username is not available. I suggest just create a list for your user name. create a combination of your first and last name or may be add a middle initial and put the name in a way where most desire name should come first so if you're not getting that name you can search up for another name according to your list and by this you can save time and there are good chances to get your name.

IF you wanna run Windows 7 on your Computer probably first you would like to take a compatibility test. However to run windows 7 you need
  • 1GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of disk space (or 20GB for 64-bit users)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

But to testify Microsoft has released a beta version of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. This is a utility that you can run on your Windows XP or Vista machine to determine whether your system is ready for Windows 7

it checks your computer's memory, processor, storage, and graphics hardware. You'll want to make sure any USB devices you regularly use such as a mouse, printer, external hard drive, or scanner are plugged in when you run the utility.

If your PC passes the test, the Advisor will tell you. If not, it will provide steps that you can take so you can able to run Windows 7 smoothly. It will also check software comparability and if any software is not compatible then Advisor will suggest steps.

If you want to use Windows XP Mode which lets you run Windows XP programs, you'll need at least 2GB of RAM and 15GB of additional storage space as well as a CPU that supports hardware virtualization.
