The service smiler to FriendFeed with the blend of social networking and sharing. Many user switch to Streamy after the facebook's FriendFeed acquisition. Many seen Streamy could be the new FriendFeed.
Due to lake of investments the startup is shutting its awesome Web app which is a really sad news. They didn't notify on their
blog or
twitter about this, but according to the homepage notice they going to send the email to it's users in few days regarding subscription export.
In a short notice posted online, on Streamy Homepage:
We regret that we cannot continue to operate Streamy. We however do plan to hold it and reinvent it when the time is right. We are working hard to make subscription exports available soon, and will notify our users by email.
Personally, It was a truly best service I found on web for by news reading habits and best alternative of Google Reade, FriendFeed.
Yahoo 360 gonna
shut it's door soon so 360 user have not much time to export data so if you have any content on Yahoo 360, then there are two easy options to move your content.
Y360toWordpress is a CodePlex project that makes moving to a WordPress blog quick and easy. Just download the zip file, extract it, and follow the instructions in the readme file. You'll need to have the .Net 2.0 framework higher to installed it.
other option is
My Opera, it offers importing from Y!360. Just
sign up for an account or use your existing, if you have one and then go to the
import page. Just provide your Yahoo username and password, and Opera will import all your important data automatically.
and if you don't wanna these options then you can stick with Yahoo
single-click transfer. It'll move your content to your new, Yahoo profile.
Open-ID Provider &
Vidoop which provides Identity platform product like
VidoopCAPTCHA,
VidoopSecure,
VidoopConnect &
myVidoop which provides OpenID for end users. Now it’s out of business.

It's sad to here that, recently Company developed very good innovative solutions, a Captcha based products that use images that link to an object and that can be only identify by humans common sense. Of course the idea behind this product was solid to fight back spam bots but now lack of funds puts Vidoop LLC out of business.
By this morning Company also announce reduction in staff & company also added to the blog that "We remain dedicated to delivering
VidoopSecure to our current partners, prospective clients, and select others."
based on an email to Vidoop insiders conforms that has no funds to pay wages or other liabilities, and that's why company employees are being offered computers instead of wages. Company has not conforme that Vidoop filing for bankruptcy.
Vidoop CEO Joel Norvell to Vidoop insiders:
Vidoopsters:
I am currently working with our counsel on next steps, but here is
what I know:
Vidoop LLC is officially out of business. Unfortunately, there are no
funds to pay the unpaid wages or other liabilities. I don’t yet know
if this means there will be a bankruptcy filing. However, we are in
the process of winding down and vacating the office.
Tomorrow and Friday we will be offering certain equipment such as
laptops and desktop computers to employees in lieu of a certain amount
of wages owed. As an example, a laptop might be worth $1000 in back
wages. You would only need to pay taxes on the actual book value of
the asset, which might be $250. So you would write a check for $0.153
on $250, or $38.25. The company’s liability to you would be reduced by
$1000, and you would have a laptop for $38.25.
The investors who walked out of the May 5 deal created a situation
that made an orderly shutdown impossible. However, several of us have
worked nonstop to preserve everyone’s stake in Vidoop, and efforts are
ongoing. We hope to provide details soon.
Thanks to everyone who is volunteering their time to help shut down
the office. There is simply no roadmap for a situation like this, and
I know it is frustrating. Your support during this difficult period
is very much appreciated.

Finally Yahoo closing its blogging & social platform
Yahoo 360. It’s been almost two years since Yahoo first announced 360 was closing. Yahoo 360 user can
download their personal content before July 12, 2009. on July 13, 2009 Yahoo! 360° will be closing down

Yahoo official said it "Today, we’re able to firmly say that on July 13, 2009 Yahoo! 360° will be closing down and you’ll be asked to move into your new profile on Yahoo!, by July 12, 2009."
"
So why they tool so long to close it? Well According to yahoo, "Before we could retire 360, we had to find a sustainable and adequate solution for your personal information. We know how important your blog entries and profile information is to each of you, and we wanted to be able to maintain the integrity of this content. Rather than rushing the process and risking data loss"
Yahoo is focusing in other property of business such as Search, Mail, Hosting for small business etc. Yahoo tried to step in to social space via mash but it was a disaster and they closed it. Now Yahoo also trying to enter in Micro Blogging space via new startup
Yahoo MemeYahoo closed too many services for focusing other entity of business like Yahoo briefcase,
Yahoo geocites,
Jumpcut & now Yahoo 360

Jumpcut a service from Yahoo which let you upload videos clips and photos & user can edit and remix the content via Jumpcut. The concept was very nice to let user create remix of their video clips and photos.
Yahoo already announced that it will shutdown Jumpcut service which is still in beta. Now there is last chance for user to export their content from Jumpcut. after June 15, 2009 user wont able to export their data from jumpcut & Jumpcut team also rolled email notification with Sub: "
Jumpcut.com is shutting down - download your files!"For the exporting the content from Jumpcut, Website provides a zip file for Download your original assets which includes photos, video, and audio, not movies
User can download individual assets , Here assets means media files like audio, video & photos that user use to remix the content. User able to download the original files in zip format.
To download your remix work user need to follow different step. to do that user need to Download Jumpcut Movie Renderer for Windows (JumpOut!) from the website.
The movie renderer allows you to capture your Jumpcut movies in a .wmv format for saving on your local computer or uploading to other video services. further instruction can be found
here.
Once you download the movies you may choose to upload them to another site such as Flickr, which
allows video uploads for short videos. It can be a wise action from yahoo to focus on Flickr which is provide same type of tools and features.

After Twitter success many new services come up the surface like Pawnce,
Plurk,
Rejaw & some Open slandered services like Identi.ca and
Laconi.ca for Twitter alternative. Pawnce Shutdown their operations on December 15, 2008 and become part of
Six Apart.
Jaiku also acquired by Google all were trying to take the market shear of micro blogging space but off course twitter having the biggest share and large enough audience. It is running stable right now. Twitter is looking for the earning model and others too, But sadly today Rejaw announced that it will be shutting down on May 31, 2009
Rejaw has stopped accepting new sign-ups effective immediately. From now until May 15th, you can continue to send new shouts, whispers, and replies & users can request export of their private user data at
http://rejaw.com/account/export On May 16th, an email with export data download instructions will be sent to users who requested it, and you will have until May 31st to download your exported data as an XML file.
Rejaw, for example, tried out a lot of interesting features like real-time messaging which is a main focus for other social Networking companies like Twitter,
Facebook & other hand
FriendFeed &
YouTube already having their Real Time versions.

Recently Yahoo
shutdown its very Old an online file sharing service "Yahoo Briefcase" which was providing 30 MB of web storage. The Idea was good but it never come with new upgrading in Storage or features. after that
JumpCut join the Que which was a media sharing site where user can upload media & create, remix movies & publish them or share with the world & now another service is joining the band wagon. A very old yahoo hosting service
GeoCity will going to dead pool later this year. Right now no new account sign ups are accepted by the site. Existing customers accounts are still active, including free & plus.
Company says "After careful consideration, we have decided to close GeoCities later this year. We'll share more details this summer" According to Company
F&Q, customer can move to other service provider like Yahoo Web Hosting which provides more tools and space or other Hosting Providers.
Geocity is a very old service provider in web Hosting but of course company will now clearly focus its eye on their another Hosting service "
Yahoo Web Hosting" which is growing day by day but it's also interesting that how Yahoo shuts down service after service. After dropping the ad revenue numbers , for Company its crucially to focus in a business which provides a good source of income.
After closing down
projects like Google Notebook, Dodgeball, Twitter like service
Jaiku, Catalog Search, Google Video now there is one more in line to join them in the Deadpool: Google Shared Stuff.
Google Shared Stuff, the social bookmarking service will no longer be available. Google shutting down it by the end of March. Google Shared Stuff was used to share videos at Google Video and Knol article but it was underdeveloped. This service has never been officially launched. Shared Stuff combined different ways to share pages with other people: by email, social sites like del.icio.us or by adding them to
a public page.
all of these cutbacks were reportedly based on a lack of revenue, which makes sense. But one does have to wonder, after taking jaiku in $12M why a serious effort was never made to let
Jaiku compete in the growing micro-blogging market? While
Twitter may have been an impossible chase, the association of the Google name should have been worth something. And if it wasn’t, the original acquisition would seem to be a poor business decision. Bad economy, or no bad economy.
There are many alternatives available like, For multiple bookmark:
shareaholic,
sharethis,
Add This,
Addtoany.
other social sites offer sharing bookmarklets:
Facebook,
FriendFeed,
del.icio.usany other alternative you have in mind then share it with us in comment Box
Google suggesting User to use alternative:
If you want another way to share videos, you can use the "Share" link below each YouTube video. You can also create a public Google Site if you want to share websites and links with friends.
