The Gadget Helpline surveyed more than 5,000 users and came up with a Top 10 list of technology-related words people find most confusing.
The firm says companies should use language people understand, rather than resorting to jargon.

Many of the words, such as Digital TV, have entered the English language but not everyone knows what they mean. Take Wi-Fi - it was named solely because of HiFi. Wireless fidelity doesn't actually mean anything. It may be called Wi-Fi but most people would call it a wireless network, which is exactly what it is.

Some words like Desktop, PC Suite, Eathernet surprise me that people dont aware of it !!! Now in Internet fenomina how many knows what is RSS, Micro blogging, Blogging, Pod casting, Ajex, Web. 2.0, HD, Symentic? If a new reader land up on your site and he come up to learn something new. Your site provides RSS subscription but if he dont know what is RSS then? He dont know what is a Feed Reader then? I think Plain English Campaign has a good point here.
