Recently TweetDeck rolled a custom twitter client & now the popular Twitter desktop client TweetDeck also come to the iPhone. This morning TweetDeck app just hit the Apple App store.

Let's see what features it have?
TweetDeck iPhone app sync with Desktop client.It includes TweetDeck favorites, including columns, groups and saved searches, everywhere you go. Browse through columns with just a fingertip, see what’s new as it arrives with notifications and simply shake your iPhone to refresh! !. TweetDeck for iPhone is now available to download free on the Apple App Store.

Sync:

you can automatically synchronize TweetDeck between your desktop and iPhone, making it really simple to import your columns and groups so you can be up and running on iPhone in a matter of minutes. Sync works in the background so whenever you change a group or add a new search column it’s updated and available on all your computers and your iPhone. it also means that it work as your back up if your computer crashes, you ca have all your settings back with your desktop and iPhone.

Multiple account support:

you can now have multiple accounts with no need to switch between them. Whether you’re on the desktop or iPhone we’ve made it simple to see all your columns, for all your accounts and tweet from any account or even cross-post tweets to numerous Twitter accounts at the same time. This is the most demanded feature from me from longtime, Finlay it arrives :)

Unlimited columns – User can now have as many columns as users like on TweetDeck. No more 10 columns limit.

Local trends: This is a very unique feature which i never found in any desktop or iPhone App for twitter. rather than only being able to see what’s trending on Twitter as a whole, with local trends, you can now see what’s hot among your own friends and colleagues. About 2 years ago, Google introduce Google Desktop for Mac to extend Google search capabilities to your Mac. after that Google rolled out Search Box in developer preview. Now Google officially releasing this technology to all users as the Google Quick Search Box or QSB for short. Quick Search Box already available in the Windows version of Google Desktop as well.

A hot Buzz of development is going in Twitter space, particular desktop app for Twitter like TweetDeck, Seesmic Desktop, which both now pull updates from Facebook & Twitter. Now Google is also getting involved in this buzz up.



Google Quick Search Box (QSB) is a Mac desktop application makes your web & desktop searches at a finger tip, With Google Quick Search Box you can search for information from just about anywhere. As you type, suggestions will appear that match your query, ranging from applications and local files on your computer, to web search and navigational suggestions, to items from your browser history and contacts and the types of results you can get will only grow over time! means, if you chose Google Calendar, the next time you search for "cal", Google QSB will reorder the results so that you don't have to arrow down to your desired choice. Instead, you can just type "cal" and press enter.

Google Quick Search Box is extensible. This means that anyone can create a plug-in that enables the QSB to search over additional data or perform more actions on results. in this version you can add twitter plug in



So, aside typing search queries into the Quick Search Box (QSB) , you can also use it as a Twitter status updater. but still you are not able to perform Twitter search via QSB & this feature is missing in Windows version, probable soon, Google will add it in windows version too.

To get started,Go to Preferences > Add Accounts > Add > Select Twitter as the account type > Enter your Twitter account name and password > Click Setup

Your Twitter account name and password will be stored in the standard Apple keychain.

Now to send a tweet via QSB,

• Open the Quick Search Box by hiting the spacebar

• Start by entering a space. (This allows you to create a 'text item' in the search box.)

• Just Enter the text you want to tweet. Don't forget Twitter's 140 character limit!

• Now The default result should be a 'text' item. Press Tab on your keyboard to see your possible actions.

• Select Send Twitter Status.

• Press Return on your keyboard.

Twitter is a great medium as a communication tool but now people adopting many verious style to use it. Companies creating theire accounts to create very good brand image in users & customers & using it as a vital tool for customer support & communication. Music bands creating Twitter accounts to increase theire fan base and but now Twitter also become file sharing tool with songtwit.com.

Songtwit.com provides a platform for music lovers who wanna share theire music with friends. It provides p2p file sharing & user can add music files from a third part website link, Upload track from your hard drive or try to search the songtwit library for good music. It support mp3, m4a, wav, wma, ogg & acc format for Uploading.

It gives users a three-step process for sending music via Twitter. First, the user finds the song. the song could be on a website, on a user's hard drive, or in the SongTwit library, which using third party hosted audio clips& if you upload the track from your hard drive it use iMeem web playerto play the track that you share with others.

The user then provides his Twitter username and password and a message of 115 characters or fewer. The tweet is sent publicly or as a reply

It can be a good tool for Bands for self-promotion, and this would be an excellent way to send fans demos or previews of new tracks. But many improvement needed like still download features is not available &user not able to see the upload status, Enable to rename files & it use iMeem native player for playing audio clips then integration with iMeem or other service bring a added charm.

(TweetDeck New Spacial Edition- Blink 182)

TweetDeck is a popular twitter app for Desktop. Recently TweetDeck add Facebook notifications and many improvements come up with the version 0.25

TweetDeck team come up with a spacial edition of Desktop App, Blink 182 TweetDeck. Blink 182 is a music band and for their fan base it can be a reason to use Blink 182 TweetDeck. Blink 182 is having official twitter account with more then 35000 followers and with only 3 twitter updates where last two tweet was for announcements for the TweetDeck client. However The band's singer, Mark Hoppus, and drummer Travis Barker, are active on twitter.

In this edition you'll get blink 182 theme, notification sound that is based on a popular track of Blink 182 and a Blink 182 button which brings up a Blink182 group in TweetDeck.

I was also wondering that how can Desktop apps like Seesmic & TweetDeck monetize the application? Advertise in App or pro version with spacial features. may be this can be the answer. Create new branded apps which give new shine to these companies but by this advertisers get the good value for advert and developers get new fan base as a new user. So is this upcoming business model for TweetDeck?
