IF you wanna run Windows 7 on your Computer probably first you would like to take a compatibility test. However to run windows 7 you need
- 1GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 16GB of disk space (or 20GB for 64-bit users)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
But to testify Microsoft has released a beta version of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. This is a utility that you can run on your Windows XP or Vista machine to determine whether your system is ready for Windows 7
it checks your computer's memory, processor, storage, and graphics hardware. You'll want to make sure any USB devices you regularly use such as a mouse, printer, external hard drive, or scanner are plugged in when you run the utility.
If your PC passes the test, the Advisor will tell you. If not, it will provide steps that you can take so you can able to run Windows 7 smoothly. It will also check software comparability and if any software is not compatible then Advisor will suggest steps.
If you want to use Windows XP Mode which lets you run Windows XP programs, you'll need at least 2GB of RAM and 15GB of additional storage space as well as a CPU that supports hardware virtualization.
