Online video site Hulu has launched a desktop application for Windows and Mac that allows you to search and watch Hulu videos without going up on Hulu website.
Hulu Desktop is part of Hulu Labs, a new section of Hulu like Google Labs. There are other tools available in Labs like video panel widgets, Recommendations , Time-Based Browsing
Boxee also having a desktop App for watching and searching videos and Boxee also tried to add Hulu content in its desktop app & Hulu has been fighting with Boxee for months. Boxee try to add Hulu videos via Rss but Hulu also blocked that. Hulu is doing this because Hulu's content partners like Fox and NBC didn't like that & they're making lot more money via TV broadcasts instead of on the Internet, so Hulu has to disable Boxee support. But I'm really surprised by this step when Hulu launch its own desktop client today ! ! !
Hulu Desktop beta is designed to let you navigate Hulu from your Desktop comfort, and it works with a mouse and keyboard or a Windows Media Center or Apple remote control. You can use the desktop client to watch video, search for videos & you can browse through media by category. Videos can be watch in full screen mode, and when you use the navigation tools to find additional programming the video will continue playing in a small window. Hulu Desktop also pull information from your Hulu account like Hulu queue etc.
We'll cover full review of Hulu desktop with each features, stay tune.
