San Francisco-based company SynthaSite which enable small businesses and individuals users to create professional looking websites with minimal technical expertise,has changed its name to Yola


Yola, formerly SynthaSite which targets individuals and small businesses, has more than 1.5 million registered users. After hearing feedback from user that "SynthaSite" is a bit of a challenge to say, spell and remember so they rebrand it and now its become Yola, Inc the word Yola comes from the Hindi word for "hatch." Company says the name change won't affect any of the users sites which are hosted on SynthaSite. Everything remain same, login is the same, the web address or SynthaSite sub domains for published site is the same and the site builder is the same Only the brand name, Look & feel of the website & website url is changed. Even user can go via old URL, www.synthasite.com which will be redirect user to the new site.

Yola is giving a platform to users who can freely built & host pro looking website with minimal technical expertise. Company recently raised a $20 million series B venture round from Reinet Fund & Right now earns revenue through domain sales. Company is also planing to generate additional revenue streams by creating a robust ecommerce platform for users to offer online transactions on their sites & also planing to creating a marketplace where designers can sell their services to the Yola user base.
